I have been passionate about the English language since my first English lesson at the age of ten.

A logical consequence of this passion was to study English at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 1998. In the following year I also qualified as a Certified Translator and Interpreter for English at the Chamber of Commerce in Dortmund. 

I started working as a translator and proof-reader while still at university - always looking for the perfect turn of phrase, always chasing down the correct technical term and always trying to make a translation sound as if it had been written in the target language from the beginning. 

I am now offering my services as a freelance translator after working for more than six years in the marketing department of an internationally operating company in the medical technology sector.
